GOT QUESTIONS? HOW CAN WE HELP?

Joints must move in order to stay healthy. No matter what type of Doctor you are, you gauge the health of a joint by its range of motion and the first step of joint rehabilitation is to restore the range of motion. This is why a knee is already put into motion even before the patient wakes up from most knee surgeries. Joint motion enables several necessary functions to take place:

  • Lubrication – with synovial fluid that is rich in hyaluronic acid
  • Rehydration of the disc to maintain proper disc height and prevent disc desiccation
  • Joints do not have arteries and veins for the most part. Yet, nutrients must be delivered to the cells and waste products must be removed. This is accomplished by a physiological pumping mechanism that occurs during motion of the joint.
Last but not least, the “crooked” part of the spine is the osteoarthritic part of the spine. Believe me, we have the x-rays to prove this.
